This one is not suitable for black and white. I took the same image in b&w, but it turned out a gray block. Then i processed this image, and the same gray block emerged. So i decided to go only for the coloured version with this. If anyone cares, feel free to download the image and see if you can do anything interesting in black and white.
@ricksnap yes indeed a very varied colour palette on just a few leaves of the same stem. @shutterbug49 i saw it. it was strange when I opened 365 and saw my image not uploaded by me :D hahaha. Anyhow, your result is very similar to what I got, using the same tool. I also use snapseed to edit my images. I used the colour filters in the B&W tool. And what not. But i was unable to get a satisfactory result. Earlier this month i posted another capture of the same bush leaves, which looked equally fine in both variants. Because there was enough contrast in the elements of the image. or maybe it's because the background is so uneven as well. I have no clue.
Anyhow, i think it is a very interesting and good exercise and thank you for it.
As red and green tones can look very similar in a straight b/w conversion, I can see why this would be challenging in monotone. Really beautiful image!
