A few days ago, I was walking to the service station next door for a nice cool Root Beer when I saw this removal van. Even though I hate the mention my home town this way, I thought it was rather kitch in the way it was presented.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@jacktion4 hehe... I didn't know we had acquired that name last year... well, I guess at this time last year I gave up on the news and anything to do with television or the media because they bombarded us with the floods so much.
But these kinds of businesses took off because of one tiny little casino which suddenly made us into a 1960's Vegas-style place... pathetic really. :P
@digitalrn Yeah, people began calling Brisbane: Bris-Vegas because of Treasury Casino. We've only got one casino and it's not a very big one; but they make a huge deal about it. It's not like we're massive gambling community and we all congregate there all day every day... so really, I don't see the big deal and why people began changing my home-town's name. I'd rather have them call Brisbane: The River City because we have a river running through the middle of it.
