Last night, I was out at the Logan North Library at a book launch of one of my friend's. And this is the book! She wrote it about here life of surviving a mental breakdown and coming out the other side. I'm a very good friend of Karen Tyrrell's and have known her for years; and I'm so happy she has gotten her work in print!
She signed my book and I nabbed a few bookmarks as well and ran into a couple of old friends from the Logan Writers' Guild (which I used to attend a very long time ago) and we all caught up quickly before we all went home. It was a great night!
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
@digitalrn She said it was the most scared she's been in her life... all from being bullied as a school teacher by parents and students. Now, that's not a good thing.
I'm glad that it was a great night and that out of such a terrible thing to have happen, your friend has been able to find a positive outlet and share her experience.
@melissapike Karen is hoping to get out the word about mental illness and how it's more common than people think; and more people around us have it than we like to know in more ways than we think.
@digitalrn@melissapike@loey5150 thank you all for your lovely comments. I can't wait to read this book and review it. I'll let you know what it's like. :D
@digitalrn@melissapike@loey5150@wilbo43 thank you all for your lovely comments. I had a great time at the launch and am looking forward to reading the book soon - after I finish off a John Irving tome I've begun and am entwined in. :D

And unfortunately it's true.
