Logan Art Gallery Christmas Party by mozette

Logan Art Gallery Christmas Party

Today, was the annual Christmas Party the Logan City Council throws for us volunteers at the art gallery. We look forward to this each year and love going; as we totally spoiled and shuffled around by bus from place to place and don't have to worry about a thing - well, except when we're going to eat and when the bus is leaving and what the heck we're going to see next... oh... and what to spend our money on too!

We first went to the Rainforest Cafe not far from Mt Warning. It's a gorgeous little place - expensive though - but lovely and quiet. Then it was on to the Murwillumbah Services Memorial Club for lunch. And what a lunch! There was a choice between roast pork and roast turkey (both with all the fixin's) and then there was a gorgeous bowl of salad for us vegetarians too... however it seemed to be the bottomless bowl of salad as none of us seemed to be able to find the end of it! Funny as! Dessert was a choice between Pavlova and Sticky Date Pudding... yummo!
Then, after we had stuffed ourselves silly, we could sit back for a moment and talk to each other. Before long we were off again to the Tweed River Art Gallery. What a place! It's up in the hills and has been extended twice since 2004! And next year, in honour of the late Margaret Olley who donated a huge amount of money, they are opening up another section to the public. This will be a duplicate of Margaret Olley's house where all of her things, possessions and brushes - the lot - will be left at the gallery at the Tweed Rivers permanently. This will be because she grew up in this area of the world. How wonderful is this? They begin working on it all next February.

We returned home by around 5pm. We were tired, filled with food, enjoyed our time running around Northern New South Wales and were ready to go home... what a day!
Well it sounds like a well rounded day of fun and excitement. Parties are always fun.
