And today is the last day - also - that I'll have my bedroom looking like it did a decade ago. Yep, this is what my bedroom looked like when I first moved into the townhouse in 2002... amazing, huh?
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
This new bed is going to be a turning point for my back. I have had back problems since I began working as an office junior; but when my bed started being carted around from place to place around Brisbane - when I moved in and out of places - I knew it wasn't going to last very long.
However, my first move was from Mum and Dad's place to Runcorn with my first boyfriend, Dan Humpheries. We loved the space and firmness of it... funny thing was that I didn't know was that I often kicked him out of the bed; yep, I'm a bed hog. :P
Then, I moved back home and the bed went into storage for a few years until I moved in with another boyfriend who turned out to be an awful man. I left him with the help of family and moved out of his place within a couple of hours; with 3 days' of planning.
Now, the bed stayed in storage again for 2 years before I moved out on my own again - this time it was for good.... and now, 11 years on, my back and hips and shoulders are telling me I'm not a spring chicken anymore and it's time for something new. I'm 40 this year and I deserve something great to sleep on - after all, we spend over half our lives sleeping. :D
So, by tomorrow night, I'll be sleeping on my new bed. I can't wait! :D
@corymbia What a wonderful story for your new bed... and a bittersweet one as well.
Mine is going to be a good one for me; as I have had some travel out of this bed... it's been to Runcorn, Logan City and Auchenflower... yeah, all over the place... but now it's at Woodridge and now it's ready to be sold or given to charity (if it doesn't sell on Gumtree). And honestly, I hope it does find a good home. The suite itself it good enough for another family.
