A Meloncholy Day by mozette

A Meloncholy Day

Today I decided to go for a drive in my Little Green Machine. Initially, I thought to go to Mt Coot-tha, but the weather was overcast and I didn't want to get photos of a dreary old day over Brisbane.

So, I headed out to a friend's gravesite instead. Last year, my friend Cate Black was laid to rest here at the Wetlands... Now, I'm not sure which tree it was they planted, but I saw two trees which looked around a year old or so, and so I took a picture of them each in case I got the wrong ones. Besides, the family said they'd put up a plaque but I couldn't find one... oh well.

It was nice to get out there and tell her what I've been up to... and be able to drive there myself in my own car. She would have been proud of me. I just wish she could have been around to see my achievements of the past year... but she's not.
It does look a bit grey out there, and losing a friend is always hard. So much you want to be able to make up, but another time unfortunately

@digitalrn It was very grey, but it didn't rain until I arrived home.

Anyway, I just stood there by her tree telling her that I missed her a lot... that I had achieved so much and wished she could have been around to see it; and that I was driving again and now have my own car.

But I guess she already knows all this ... you know, like most of my family, she's probably watching us all from wherever she is and quietly cheering us all on. :)
