My earphones! I don't listen to music with them. I only use them when I'm playing my games.
I never had any interest in video games until I hit middle age. (I've always been a late developer! Actually, I'm still waiting to develop womanly curves. Hope springs eternal in the woman with the stick insect figure.) Now I own 3 handheld game consoles: a Sony PSP, a Nintendo DSi and a Nintendo 3DS.
Because I play video games, my son likes to say I'm the kid in the family. I like to say he's weird for a teenager. The only game he plays is chess: international chess, shogi (Japanese chess) and xiangqi (Chinese chess). Obsessive, much? Not for me. I prefer my games to come with a healthy dose of violence and death.
NICE headsets, Livia. Only you could take a photo of headsets and make it look like a piece of art! I love my Bose headsets too . . but only use them for walking. (which I haven't done much of lately!) Play on with your games . . my husband does the same. :)
Love the purple, What do you call middle age?? I have never been into video games but then my husband got me a DS for my 50th and I am hooked, even down loaded angry birds on my phone..............
I hope by middle aged, you are older than I. But I do not get that impression. I was addicted to PS, but found other avenues... one of them being photography.
I love my toys and wonder if I might grow old, rather than just look it. Why is it that the middle aged inhabit the middle kingdom playing games or tapping out words on their touch screens, and listen to cool sounds? Your earbuds not only look cool, I bet they are. Great photo.

@claireuk: The Collins dictionary says middle age is between 40 and 60 but the Oxford English dictionary says 45 to 65. Google tells me that it all depends on who you ask! Oscar Wilde said, "The old believe everything, the middle-aged suspect everything, the young know everything." So, in that case, I was middle-aged by the time I was 12! Heh.

@neeko: Currently I'm playing Patapon 2. I'm still trying to raise the perfectly evolved army! Before that, I beat Crisis Core after over 105 hours of playing. Completed all 300 missions, all side quests and mini games. Utter fun.
@metzgerrn: They stay in the ears comfortably. These earphones came with a set of 3 different sized soft flex sleeves, so I tried all of them and I use the pair that fits the best. I hear that some brands even make customized earphone sleeves for that perfect fit.

I really like the composition of this. I once tried to do a photo of earphones. I came to realize that it's harder than it looks to make a cool looking photo of wires.
