These are brass door knockers in the shape of lion heads in the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Chinatown. This type of door knocker is a common sight in Chinese temples. The lion, as an ancient guardian, represents strength and protection.
I couldn't decide which shot to use so you get a collage. 8D
What striking photos these are, Livia! Your signature is all over these photos! (I don't think that I have a signature yet! lol). Anyway, they are such a lovely color and clarity is awesome. Beautiful collage . . and, of course, the lion (cat family!) is King for me. :)
Nicely done colorful collage. The brass is beautiful on the red door. I used to have a brass lion head door knocker before we moved. I wish I'd taken it. I didn't realize it was Oriental.
My first thought was "Hey, nice knockers!" What is wrong with me?;-) I like the one on the right, too, as it shows the texture of the doors. But it's neat to see the door knockers from the other angles, too. Great photos and a wonderful collage. Love the red background/doors. What did you use to make the collage? Need to find a better method for me for next time should I go the collage route again.
@amandalomonaco@netkonnexion hahahaha
What lovely contrast you have captured between the knockers and the red of the door. the collage works well here.
Wonderful collage, colours and clearity! I love the knockers and took probably a zillions shots of them too but never posted one. Why? Hm, I should :) Thanks for the inspiration Livia!!
A great, big, red-painted, brass-plated, super polished and oh-so-shiny "THANK YOU!" to everyone!
Thank you for stopping by and thank you for leaving a comment. I had a lot of fun taking these shots. Even though I had stop in the middle of my shooting spree because one of the temple staff wanted to use the door. She didn't bat an eyelid. She must have already seen a lot of people taking photographs of these door knockers.
And yes, I totally held back from making "I Have a Fabulous Set of Knockers" for the title. ;D

@netkonnexion I would say "Filthy mind" If it were not my first thought as well.
