The blotchy pattern on the petals of this Phalaenopsis orchid caught my eye and held my attention for a while. It's as if someone had dripped dark magenta ink onto its white petals, and the drops of color blotted and ran. The blotchy pattern is not symmetrical, which makes it even more intriguing!
oooooh, this is goooorgeous! i like that you centered it in the middle because it makes it very monumental, which the beauty of this flower really emanates
Beautiful colors of the Phalaenopsis, great close up. My wife`s and our Queen`s bridal bouquet where made of those orchid flowers ( White ones )
In our country they are very popular
What a beautiful shot, Livia. I love orchids and would love the chance to photograph them. They had an orchid plant at our grocer that looked much like this one yesterday and I asked about it. It caught my eye like this one with this beautiful color that does look like ink on its petals. Fav
A great, big, ink-stained, monumentally blotchy, red-faced "THANK YOU!" to everyone! I love orchids. And I am grateful for all your supportive words. Thank you so much!
Phalaenopsis are amazing flowers, shapes are so complex and so symetrical... Mother Nature is just an artist. I hope my hoyas will give flowers soon to make some pictures...
really great symmetry despite the unsymettrical nature of the Orchid's colouring. I like the way you have anchored the symmetry with the flower, whch allows the flower to have a more random colouring. I was lucky enough to get to the Botanic gardens in Singapore when I visited last, and loved the Orchids, I could have stayed there all week!!
