After traumatizing some of you with the shot I uploaded yesterday, I thought I'd show my best shot today. It's not a great shot but it's my best shot on a dismal zoo trip with most of the photos turning out too blurry or blobby. (I still have a couple of rude shots to upload though... Oops. Did I say that out loud? 8D )
This is a white-faced saki. It is a species of saki monkey. They usually mate for life. It is shaggy and completely black, except for its face. White-faced saki are fast-moving monkeys and move mainly by leaping.
White-faced saki roam freely in the zoo, staying in the treetops. There is a small wooden platform built for them, where fruit is left at designated times. If you happen to be there, you're in for a treat because two or three white-faced saki will sit there and eat the fruit happily. It's a great photo op. There are no bars or glass between you and the monkeys. The platform is about 2m high, so a respectable distance is maintained between the monkeys and the gawking tourists.
Stunning capture. Awesome detail on the face. Must be an amazing zoo to have them roaming freely. Looks like he's secretly trying to get someones attention. "Pssssst....hey....over here."
How cute is this?!!! Love that "powdered" face! I'd love to see that place and have this opportunity altho I'm sure that I'd need a thousand photos to get two or three decent ones. Wonderful pov and lovely expression on his face. Thanks for sharing .. oh, I love your title. :)
I want to say "THANK YOU!" to all of you for taking the time to stop by and look at my album. I appreciate your kind comments very much. Thank you for your encouragement. I am grateful. I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!
This is such a handsome shot, have a great weekend
