They are only 1cm (0.3in) long. Nope, I have no idea what these little guys are. But I spotted many of them mating happily among the grass. Tis the season for love! Mostly they were doing it two at a time. When I spotted this trio, well, how could I refuse to take a shot!? Heh.
In other news, I've ace membership. But I do not intend to start additional albums. It's hard enough to post one photo a day. I bought the membership because I've spent the past 6 months on 365 and I realize I've enjoyed my time here. It's great that Ross will always keep it free for anyone who wants to undertake the project. Getting a membership account is my way of saying thanks!
lolol the more the merrier I guess :-) Fantastic capture......the details are so clear, and I love the colours :-) I've been thinking of getting an Ace membership for the same reasons :-)
oh, I am with you. it's hard enough to get one photo a day! every once in a great while I add one to my other album, but not often.
fabulous shot of these little critters! can you believe how long their antenna are?!?!
Re the ace membership, I thought of it as a thank you too. The other good advantage is that you don't need to look back to others comments if they have come back again to you, you will get a notification.
You certainly find the most amazing insect situations ;-) I feel the same way about more than 1 album. I used one for year one and another was for a personal project I'm doing on angels. But I enjoy the other features of ace. Anyway, this is a terrific photo.....so detailed!
All those legs and antennae! It's a wonder they can keep track... Great capture. Ditto everyone above with the Ace membership. I used to post to 3 albums but it became a chore. Now I keep it up for the same reason as you.
Fab capture! Love the details and the shadows....sly little buggers! Who woulda thunk it!! lol
I went ACE for that reason too and now I love being able to edit on PicMonkey and a place to put extra photos when I can't decide which I want to post! Congrats.
Good capture! I never have used my third album. Too hard to keep up with one or two. I think that Ross does an excellent job and keeps it free for folks, so I think it is a good idea for those of us that can help him to keep it going.
eww! what a shot! an excellent one i might add! i totally agree with you on supporting the site. i work for a computer/database company and these servers aren't free and don't run themselves. Ross does a remarkable job.
Great find, even if it is somewhat voyeuristic! Lol! I totally agree with you about the membership, this community is so inspiring and it definitely deserves the support! I rarely use my second album, but love the fact that I'm contributing in some small way to supporting 365, whilst it is helping me to develop and learn everyday!
A great, big, loud and bright, super sunny and extra exciting "THANK YOU!" to everyone for stopping by to leave a comment! Haha, is it bug porn? They're just doing what comes naturally! Though I must say I was a little surprised to come upon this scene because I never thought insects would do a threesome. I suppose this saves time. 8D
ménage à trois? methinks they're trying to kill each other! or maybe the female is trying to get it over with in two shots! hahaha.
yes, i noticed this morning the 'ace' after your name. well, good for you. and good for 365. i've regretted doing a second album although it's handy for challenges and other stuff you can't post in just one album. however, i'm a fuzzy-wuzzy, and i can't stand a 'hole in the calendar' so i make it a point to post on all days on both albums. am not touching the third album anytime soon.
@summerfield You're a funny fuzzy-wuzzy! 8D Yeah, no second album for me, and I don't care if I have holes in my calendar. (I have a missing week in December 2011.) I just want to finish my project because I can't stand leaving anything half-done. It's a long way yet. 8(
chickka chikka bow bow! (p. music) I have up pics of these mating (I think) and flies too. I do wonder is that gross to do but it is just nature, right? They are bugs..not people. haha I think they are assassin bugs of some type (they vary, but they have this "spear" tucked up under their heads and long skinny legs) ...here was my shot...they seem similar http://365project.org/espyetta/album-2/2012-04-01
fabulous shot of these little critters! can you believe how long their antenna are?!?!
I have the 3 albums but I really only use the other 2 for competitions and challenges, I wont be posting 3 a day either.
Awesome capture too, love your macro shots!!!
I went ACE for that reason too and now I love being able to edit on PicMonkey and a place to put extra photos when I can't decide which I want to post! Congrats.
