I've wanted to shoot a dragonfly for so long that when I saw this little guy, I was practically drooling over myself. Well, okay, I exaggerate. I didn't drool. But my face was probably redder than his beautiful wings because the morning was so hot and humid, sweat was dripping down my neck! This weather is killing me!
I have never seen a red dragonfly! Fantastic capture, Livia! I guess he was loving the heat! Seems as though the heat is only fit for bugs and snakes. Ugh!
Wow WEE!!! This is the Best! Love the Color's and Detail's!! I think i do see some drool on it!!! oh no that is mine !! Love it Livia you are so blessed!! I have been waiting for mine to fly by...FAV!!
and it's a beautiful red dragonfly. i used to catch these guys when i was a little girl back in the old country. they are hard to catch but they live longer. this just brought some good memories for me. i love it!
instant fav! I took some on dock cables, but they were nothing to write home about. This one is! In what region do you live? I see nothing but brown and these cream/black ones..that is it! This red is exquisite!
it is gorgeous! where do your find these guys? not just these, but any of the bugs in your photos? are they common? do you just sit and wait for them to show up or do you hunt them down?
wow!!! you finally get one and what a one it is!! Livia this is an incredible shot, the colour and detail and truly amazing...huge fave for me:) congrats on the pp and that very big stack of faves:)
@espyetta I live in Singapore, in Southeast Asia. These red ones are not uncommon here. 8)
@vickisfotos Because I live in a flat (I'm in SIngapore) I don't have a garden, so I need to go out looking for the bugs I want to photograph. I go out early in the mornings because it gets too hot and humid later on in the day. Mostly I go to the parks, nature reserves and mangrove forests. 8)
A great, big, fabulously red, bright and grateful "THANK YOU!" to all!
I am overwhelmed by the responses. Thank you so much! Dragonflies are hard for me to capture because they never seem to want to stay still for me. I'm so glad this one posed. Red dragonflies are not uncommon here. I've seen them in different places at different times.
Again, thank you so much, for your generous support and encouraging comments. I am grateful.
FAV!
Thank you for you concern and you kind comments every pic/day.
Did I say amazing? really!
