Pagoda flowers grow in showy, bright clusters. It's a fast-growing shrub. I was mesmerized by their long, slender stamens!
The scientific name is Clerodendrum paniculatum. But they are called pagoda flowers because the clusters are arranged in tiers, in a shape like a pyramid or pagoda. Butterflies love them! Each flower is small at about 1.3cm (0.5in). These plants are common in Sri Lanka, India and Southeast Asia.
I want to say that I am surprised-elated-overwhelmed by the response to my dragonfly shot yesterday. Thank you so much! I am grateful for your kind support and encouragement. Again, thank you!
Wow . a beautiful pic .This flower have stunting color . I do know the Clerodendrum thomsoniae , ( That`s an indoor plant in our country ) Now I`ve to get to Wikipedia and learn all about C.
A great, big, slender, orange-hued, bright and flowery "THANK YOU!" to all for taking the time out of your busy schedules to stop by and write a comment. I'm grateful. These pagoda flowers were a stone's throw away from the dragonfly I had shot earlier. They are in a park I visit often with my camera because there is a mangrove forest next to the park where I go to find bugs to shoot.
Again, thank you so much!
