You won't believe how many shots I took of these flowers in the Flower Dome conservatory. They are Japanese camellia, and I love them!
When I first saw them, I thought they looked like fake flowers. There were so many of them, and the graduated color on the petals was perfectly soft, as if someone had airbrushed them. But the more I looked, the more happy I became, the more shots I took. I remember stopping myself halfway, wondering in a moment of panic if I also had a big stupid smile on my face as I snapped, and if the people around me were staring.
Is it possible to get high on flowers? I think so. I wanted to do nothing but stare at these all day. XD
I looked at this in large view, where the airbrushed effect is even more noticeable. They are a gorgeous colour, and the brown leaves of the oxalis sets them off beautifully.
The flowers are indeed very beautiful Livia, but for me the shot would be fairly ordinary without the little yellow blooms, they make into a more together image i think. Glad you had such a good day, and I'm almost certain that you surely did have a big stupid grin on your face :D
Whow , that`s a lot of lovely Camellia flowers . and a beautiful capture of them
Please dear Livia , I don`t want to compare with you but yesterday it was a lovely day I`ve a trip trough the country with my wife and came home with 80 flower(field ) pic. ( and 80 farmland pic ) I do love to share them . So take them as a gift for you special and the all great 365 friends we have. No competition .
Nope, sorry Livia don't get it! There is no green! Yet you love them;0) Beautiful shot honey, they look rather gorgeous shame they have no scent; thank you for your lovely and no nonsense comment too; you are quite right :0))
If anybody would understand how many shots you took, it would be me!! Are you kidding ... I would shoot these beauties forever! Yes, they do look like a watercolor .. so delicate and lovely soft color tones. Amazing capture! I not only smile like an "idiot," but sometimes I talk to the object and murmer like I'm a little crazy!
are the little yellow flowers a different type of flower? i love the spots of yellow. this whole scene makes me happy!! wouldn't this be a pretty note card!
A great, big, red, lushly layered and intoxicating "THANK YOU!" to everyone for stopping by! I smile every time I remember these blooms. They are just amazing to see. Thank you so much for taking the time. Please know that I am grateful for your constant support!
Fav! I would have been smiling right with you!! What post processing did you use? It is almost like you touched it with a tad of HDR or something! Love this!
@espyetta I have no idea how to do HDR! XD The usual processing, I just sharpened a little and adjusted the contrast levels a little. The flowers are that amazing. The color and shading on their petals actually look so perfect, when I first encountered them, I thought they were fake flowers. HAHA. But they're real, and so beautiful. They were in yellow and orange as well but, somehow, I didn't like the way those shots turned out, they looked too bright! I tried desaturating the colors but then they just looked weird after that. When you see them with your naked eye, they already look very, very bright. I have trouble shooting really brightly colored flowers. XD
@myautofocuslife I guess it was the sharpen and contrast that did it. The are so gorgeous! I cannot shoot good flower photos! Thanks for the explanation!
