Still trying to mix it up for August, so we take a little break from the flowers. Here's a landscape shot. Taken with my macro lens, of course. XD
The Singapore Flyer, called an observation wheel by some and a ferris wheel by most, is the tallest in the world at 165 m (541 ft). (For now. Once the High Roller in Las Vegas is completed, it won't be the tallest.) There are 28 air-conditioned capsules that accommodate 28 passengers in each one. It takes 30 minutes to complete one rotation.
I took this shot early in the morning, from Gardens by the Bay. The day was cloudy, grey and flat, so I processed it to add some colour. 8P
great shot to mix it up a bit. i know what you mean about the break --- and then i think about the big layer of snow we'll have in the winter and i keep posting the flower pics ... lol
Tag for the theme of the week? This would certainly fit the description of "golden". Lovely shot! (And you know, I am SO sorry and embarrassed - I didn't realize I hadn't followed you back yet! A thousand apologies, your project is definitely worth following!)
A great view . love the composition , the great light and the view on the houses. But , no money will be enough to get me in that wheel ,O no.
Thank you for you nice comment and the fav on my collage. I`ll do some more flower pic , you`ve ask it so nicely I can`t refuse
Livia...you're amazing! This shot is beautiful. I totally love your composition and processing. That building in the background is quite extravagant...what is it please? I've never heard of a Ferris Wheel so big before. Wow. Fav.
Only you could take a fabulous landscape shot with a macro lens! Beautiful and wow...air conditioned and a 30 minute ride around!!! Would love to give it a whirl!
@lillibet@lynnb Those buildings with the red roofs in the background are actually high-rise residential blocks, part of a private condominium estate. They are probably very, very expensive to own and live in.
@tooki I've taken a ride on the Flyer. I have no particular love for being in extremely high places (ski lifts are the worst for me) but I must say the view from up there was incredible. 8)
Instant fav.......fabulous composition and tones in this perfect landscape shot. I love the observation wheel that I will probably forever call a ferris wheel ;-) Would love to ride on it!
instant fav. The composition and tones are wonderful. You did a great job adding the colour in the processing. It looks really natural. Love the big empty sky next to the ferris wheel.
A great, big, early-in-the-morning, warm-hued and warmly composed "THANK YOU!" to everyone for your support! I find landscape shots intimidating (shooting tiny things seems much less difficult to me than shooting big things) so I don't make them often. This shot was just there, I saw it like this instantly, so I made it. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a comment. I read all of them, and I find in them a great source of motivation and encouragement. Again, thank you.
Lovely soft color tones and the pov is awesome! Your processing is right on because it seems like "real" lighting. Twenty plus people in one of those cars seems a little crowded. I'd feel a bit overwhelmed ... still would love to see the view from inside and try to capture a photo or two.
@karenann The capsules are big, so even with 20+ people in one, it won't feel uncomfortably crowded, there is room for you to walk around and enjoy different views. There are seats for those who prefer to sit, too. And I think the Flyer has a special program for those who wish to dine in a capsule all by themselves. (Say, newlyweds, couples or small families celebrating a special occasion. Advance booking and higher fees apply.) I believe there have been wedding ceremonies conducted on the Flyer. 8)
Amazing composition, pov, lighting. Love the color too. Gonna be trying for a ferris wheel capture tonight, first time trying. Wish me luck. Fav by the way.
I'm not going to read all the comments before mine because many other people have probably all said the same... Well done on making it look like a pic taken at either end of the day. It's great to see you with your head out of the foliage.
Beautiful shot - those colours are lovely and the composition is spot on. I'm enjoying this mix up for August (but hope to see a wee jumping spider again soon!)
Thank you for you nice comment and the fav on my collage. I`ll do some more flower pic , you`ve ask it so nicely I can`t refuse
will have to goggle Las Vegas Ferris Wheel
