Found out there will be about 27 head shots for this program that I will shoot. Plus later several group shots. Great practice in getting the lighting perfected on both sides. Using close to a flat lighting system with these and back lighting to separate from the background. Using a black backdrop since the program itself is white.
What I am going to do is shoot the cast in color and then play with the black & white and find out which will work best. I think the program is going to have the photos in black & white and I want to make the adjustments so they look best in b&w rather than find out after they are printed. I'm not as good at the black & white I could use @Northy help with that. I wonder what she would do for the black & white - The black backdrop seems to work well and since the program is white paper I think this will work well, I just need to make sure the exposure is right. I thought this gentleman really did have a very nice smile and was an easy person to work with. He is actually the leading character's father so "James" must have gotten his personality from his dad, I'm guessing.
thanks for the shout out - but i am awful at portraiture! i think your lighting set up against the black is quite striking and i'm sure the pictures will turn out wonderfully!
