Signs,Symbols and Iconography

Taking creative licence with the "My Favorite Photos In A Collage" Theme: Signs. MFPIAC4
I am fascinated with old cemetery's and just bought the greatest book called "Stories in Stone : A Field Guide to Cemetery Symbolism and Iconography" by,Douglas Keister.I strolled around in the Sleepy Hollow cemetery in Massachusetts with my guide book, reading the signs and symbols.I loved visiting Authors Ridge!

"It is not the length of life, but the depth.”

I know what the first one means (Some would say "It's Greek to me" and they'd be right!) and I could venture a guess about the wheat- but I'd be interested to know what your book had to say about them. Great collage- it really gives you a wonderful flavor of this historical cemetery.

You captured the carvings well. Like others, it would be interesting to know what the symbolism is in each one.

Great shots, the book sounds famous. I find cemeteries fascinating. Dave and I honeymooned in Paris and went to the Pere Lachaise cemetry where many famous people are buried
