With clearing sky the scene over the City Of London is clear. The towering buildings show the area which is the powerhouse of the UK financial markets.
I am standing with my back to the Tate Modern seen in my other album today. In the distance in this shot you can see a bird flying. It is a Peregrine falcon. These wonderful birds have taken to nesting on the Tate chimney. For much of the year bird watchers can be seen with their telescopes outside the Tate keeping an eye on these magnificent birds. The Peregrine is the fastest animal on the planet and can reach speeds of around 200 miles per hour. In recent years they have moved into urban areas and often nest in high blocks or structures. There are nine nesting pairs known in London.
