Identify This. No. 66

Todays object is a great turn - can you work out what sort of turn it is?

Yestderday you saw...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The issue yesterday is to decide what sort of fitting it was... Cherrill got it... Yahaaaah!
Cherrill - Just found this.......:-) One of those buttons that pushes in, on a door, then the door closes and it pops into the hole? keeps the door closed.
Yes, it is a door catch to my food pantry, in the middle of being cleaned up prior to being painted. The sprung ball-bearing slips into a hole in the frame and keeps the door closed. Doesn't seem to keep the kids out somehow! LOL>
Congratulations Cherrill... Nice one.
Honorable mentions to...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Howard N - A fitting it may be, but certainly rusted, as is the screw type fastener upper left. I can not make out the glyphs beneath the screw head, probably Egyptian. I'd guess part of a lock assembly to a recently discovered tomb. Net says:-->> Nice idea oh waffly one! LOL. But wrong... However, a Doohicky Award!!! Yeeeeeehaaaaa!

Nancy Holte - NAs for today's photo, I'm thinking a shot putt (or is that put) stuck in foam. I know it's wrong, but hey, that's what I see and I'm kind of tired. Net says:-->> Wrong. But an interesting interpretation. So a Doohicky award!! Yeee harrrh!

Shanne - screws and plate to a hinge? with the edge of the door underneath? Net says:-->> Cool try but not quite. Good attempt.

Sue Wilde - I'm getting it right today. It's a particularly delightful piece of abstract art. Anyone care to argue with me? Net says:-->> Yeha! Me. Its wrong! LOL.

Kathy A - Something mouldy I think! Net says:-->> Nope! Not even close. LOL.

Camille Bisson - spray foam insulation that has mildew on it, the kind you put around windows, doors, that sort of stuff, and then take a razor blade and cut off all the excess. Net says:-->> Nice idea but miles off tonight. LOL. Better luck tomorrow.

Steven Galvin - Is it a rusty pair of scissors? Net says:-->> Rusty something. Wrong. LOL.

Liz (fotomama) - something you pulled out of the waaayyy back of your refrigerator that nobody wanted to eat so you thought you could just shut the door on it? Net says:-->> Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!

Jen E - looks like some kind of old plating screwed to an even older wall? Net says:-->> Good try, but not good enough! Not screwed to a wall! LOL.

LisLee - lock on a window. Net says:-->> Nearly but not. A door, its on a door! LOL>

scooter - No idea, looks like an old gross screw and a cap beside it. Net says:-->> I think it is genuine 1950s door furniture, in brass and still working well. Yehhha! they don't make em like that anymore!

Great fun - thanks. I hope you had fun too.

See you tomorrow.
Enjoy!

Looks like the device I use for opening the cupboard to my gas meter. it has a triangle hole on the arm that's facing down, a circle hole on the right arm and a smaller square on the left arm. I don't know the actual name of these type of keys but Im sure you wont hold that against me!

This is actually a specialized tool for a very specific vehicle, which has different ends to fit sump plugs; gear box drain plugs; differential and possibly some other part of the vehicle...but it is very old and specialised. It is, no doubt, European. Could also be the bits to adjust the toilet.
