Identify This No. 102

Todays object was an important part of my childhood. Perhaps one of the things which gave me my interest in gadgets. I purchased this in 1976. What is it?

Yes, a paperclip holder. It has a magnetic ring around the hole so when you shake it the clips stick up but don't fly out. Clever, also tacky! Grin. Love it.
I think nearly everyone got it. Well done everyone...!

Honorable mentions...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sue Wilde - Paper clip holder thingy with a magnet in the opening so that you can randomly throw your recycled paper clips at it and they will stick. Net says:-->> Excellent - correct! YEEEEEEEhooooo!
Paula Brumbe - Going out on a limb here and say it is a holder of bent wire. I would use it for straight pins though. Net says:-->> Cool idea with the pins. A Doohicky Award! Yahoo!
Shanne - paper clip holder - from some SFX convention? Net says:-->> Could be. I am not sure how I got it now, I have had it for many years.
lorihiro - My guess is a container of curled and twisted pieces of wire that you use to keep papers together when you can't reach the stapler. Am I close? Net says:-->> Super close. In fact you got it!!! LOL Yeeeehaw!
Vanessa Walters - It looks like a paper clip holder and also a roller skate wheel. Net says:-->> I like the skate wheel idea> LOL> A Doohicky award! Yaaaaaahooooweee!
Sean - A giant cookie made to look like a paper clip holder? Net says:-->> Hugely funny! LOL> I love that idea. You get tonights special award - the "Cooked-Up-Cookie Award!". Yipppeeeeeowww!
Thanks for the fun and for dropping by. See the next picture before you go to bed tonight!
This item sharpens wooden pencils... therefore, we will call it a pencil sharpener! The squeeze thingies will secure the inserted pencil while you turn the crank, hidden on the back side of the machine. The drawer pictured on the lower left of the image collects the shavings, which I hope are to be recycled.
Ah . . . a good old-fashioned pencil sharpener. More work than my electric one, but then again, it works when there is no power. :)
