Previously, in ID This No. 117...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No.117 is a mysterious doohicky thing-a-majig-a-bob-thingo! Well those of you who have followed me for a long time will know of my love of stationary. I bought a box of these years ago. They are binders for paper which have two binder holes. Hence my clue yesterday "we have all used them in one 'form' or another"! I like these because they are not those nasty sharp metal ones that cut your fingers. However, since I bought them I have never seen them on sale again. So I don't think they attracted a great flock of buyers! LOL.
Winning observers were...
Howard N; Kathy A; Jennifer C - well done clever people!!!
Honorable mentions...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shirley Chetwynd - Net says:-->> windscreen wiper, Oooops! No, but a Doohicky Award! Yaahy!

Bev - luggage handle. Net says:-->> Could have been but wasn't. Ha! Nice try tho' - LOL.

Howard N - This one is easy. This is what is used when the one, just like it, fails. It is a replacement. This one is a beige color but it is also available in RGB. I wanna say it looks like some sort of paper binder/clip, what have you, but have never seen anything like it on these shores. Net says:-->> Ha! Well worked out. Nice one. Love the "also available in RGB". Only a web developer or photog would think of that! LOL>

Alta D© - It looks like a hair clip in one angle, a chopstick in another and a fastener all rolled into one. I therefore call this an all-around thingamajig. Net says:-->> LOL... Trying from all angles this time eh! Well, sorry but ya missed. Nice try. Made me laugh. a "Doohicky Award!" Yahoooooo!

DavidCHR - I'm usually able to identify your objects easily, or not at all. This is the first time, though, that I'm stuck in the middle; I've got the answer on the tip of my brain, but can't quite get it to form properly. It's a... it's a... well, I wish they were "thought tweezers" that one could use to clear blocked synapses... Net says:-->> Tee hee... Love the idea of thought tweezers! Great idea. LOL> a "Doohicky Award!" Yaeeeaoooh!

lorihiro - A selfie! Very Cute! :-) Net says:-->> Yeh! Right! I should be so lucky to be that thin! Wow. I might even be able to get back into the wedding dress! (Better not tho' my wife would throw me out!) LOL. Nice one. a "Doohicky Award!" Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaho!

Sue Wilde - The side bits swing back into the centre cavity making it much tidier to look at when it is in the rest position. Net says:-->> A cute and clever answer. a "Doohicky Award!" Yahooo. But its not whatever you were trying to describe. LOL...

Alison Bailey - A clip of some sort. Don't ask me what sort - oh... you did, I suppose; damn! Net says:-->> Grin. Yes I did ask. Grin again. No you did not get the answer. LOL>

Mike Warren - A double handed pointer :) Net says:-->> Excellent. The one you use when you are continuing to give your powerpoint and at the same time point accusingly when Naughty Neddy at the back of the class flicks wet ink pellets at you! a "Doohicky Award!" Yahhhhsaaaw!

Wow, that one taxed my brain. I am off to lie down for a while, well the whole night actually! Thanks for stopping by.

I will be one of the first tonight to identify this rounded, straight edged, multi angled cornered tool. The clue does not help, as I have again, never seen one of these in my basement where such things are usually found. I was going to say it is some kind of grouting tool, but that would not fit the clue. Maybe an artists knife of some sort, I say maybe, because I really don't know. Mr. Net is digging deeper and has become more difficult of late. hmmmm I think he got me.

It looks like a paint scraper to me. I remember my father using a tool like this to get paint off woodwork after he'd softened the paint up with a blow torch. It's designed to get into awkward bits like corners.

I think Alison is right, I'm sure I used to have one!
September 15th, 2011

Fireplace poker to stir up the ashes
September 15th, 2011
I thought it was a mortar thing, not sure though.
September 15th, 2011
My father had one - not sure what for or what it's called. But I think it's some sort of scraper that scrapes different angles and curves.
