Here is a bizarre piece of equipment at the cutting edge. What sort of thing is this!

Well, I think there is a fundamental category error here. If you pin something down you stop it moving! In fact, this is a pendulum which makes its living moving. So some diametrically opposed views on this one then...

Honourable mentions...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jenn ace - A thumb tack? Net says:-->> Ah! Afraid not! LOL. See the above...
Lee Gordon - I would say its a clock weight from a clock of the pendulum variety. Correctomundo! Yeahaaaaaa!
scooter ace - I am going with Jenn, at least for now...a thumb tack. Net says:-->> And so the diametric polarisation is defined! LOL
Jane - I am going with Lee... a pendulum of a clock :) Net says:-->> Correct. And the debate is under way (see above).
Shirley Chetwynd - pendulum on a grandfather clock. Net says:-->> Precise, and correct! Yeehaaa!
Amanda F. - A door handle or drawer handle. Net says:-->> Since it is a pendulum, it might be a bit difficult to catch in order to open the door. LOL
Brad Johnson - I think it may be the fastening button on a pair of wooden pants. Net says:-->> Ha ha! LOL. Great idea Brad. Nice one! a "Doohicky Award!" Yajahjohoooo!
mittens (Marilyn) - Some kind of button you push, like maybe to call an elevator? Net says:-->> If you push it, then it might tick! It won't call an elevator! Tee hee! Nice try. Plausible. A Doohicky award! Yahhhhooooodlums!
Rick Schies - A door or drawer pull Net says:-->> Ah ha! Rick is pulling the other one. Grin. The pendulum can be pushed or pulled - all it does is tick. A Doohicky award! Yahoooooodlyum!
Howard N - You must look at the BIG picture to understand this image. It is primarily used to reflect alien transmissions back to their source. I have no idea why it is hanging on a door. If the aliens call and receive no answer they will probably give up. And besides, who needs aliens? Do we not have enough problems on this planet already. A strange and glowing golden object it is. Net says:-->> You get tonights "Alien Waffle Award! Yeeeehaaaaaza!
Mike Warren - It a pendulum for as wall clock. Net says:-->> Close! LOL. Nice try.
Doug O. - An awesome knob! Net says:-->> So awesome that its not even a nob! LOL.
Paula Cook-Farkas - I know!! A strange and glowing golden object! Net says:-->> Thats not fair you took my description! Bahhhh hahhh, booohoo! Sniff, sniff. Its OK I'm alright now. Sniff. LOL...
lorihiro Thumb tack? Net says:-->> The great pin debate continues!
Rev. Fr. Joel Osborne A clock pendulum? Net says:-->> Yes!!!
Alison Bailey - Yes, I reckon it's a drawing pin. A quick check on one I found loose in the stationery drawer - OUCH!! - seems to confirm it. Net says:-->> Ah ha! Tacky! LOL.
Sue Wilde - That's an astonishingly well polished door knob! Net says:-->> Actually its a recently refurbished pendulum! How different can you get. LOL...
Lesley Barber - A drawing pin,of course!! Net says:-->> actually of course not! LOL
Carole Imes - Whatever it is, I love the reflection within. Net says:-->> Great. I like to reflect on my pendulum. LOL>
Paula Brumbe - push pin. Net says:-->> Actually no, a swing pendulum. LOL. Nice try.
Thanks for coming by and joining in the fun. I love all your comments and look forward to reading them each day. See ya!
I am sorry I missed the posting time of this image. It is in fact a circular saw and blade. The circular saw is as old as time... note the resemblance, for instance, to the wheel, the shape of the earth, the orbit of the moon. You do not see that kind of comparison with the shape of any straight edge handsaw. Were not Christopher Colombus and Galileo cutting edge?
