Window to the past. by newbank

Window to the past.

Another from the weekend. The area around the train shed was a mine field of wonderful shots. As you may have noticed not any actually of the trains... I was more excited by the old run down sheds and rust than the trains. No that's not true, I tried to capture the trains I just couldn't get a shot I liked.
Great shot. The red hat really adds to it! Nice capture.

I agree with Jane, the red does bring it our, nice shot.

Ah yes windows crammed with stuff! nice shot

Lovely bit of decay! Love the range of tones too. I'm not sure about the red hat though - red strongly draws the eye and I want mine to freely move away from that and all over the pic. I really like that bit of rust just showing on the corrugated iron roof … and the highlights on the wall.. and..and ..! I like it better and better the more I look at it! Fav!

You could be looking into my son's bedroom here! :)

I love shots like this - there's a lot of years in that shed and window. It raises questions like who owns it, why is it full of 'stuff'. Great photo.

Great composition and like the splashes of colour in the window.

well captured :)

This looks so cool, especially the contrast between the dark walls and the opaque windows. A really intriguing collection of things in there.

Sam
Looks like that shed needs a big clean out!!!!

Nice thought out shot.

Super grit and find. I think that I'd have changed the comp up here to move the window more to side, though.

This is pretty awesome too, and I like what you have done with it. Actually I really love the hint of colour on the roof too, can't decide if I want to see more of it, I suspect it frames the shot just nicely the way it is :)

Like how the items in the window are highlighted.

Well spotted. I'm in the camp that likes the red hat for it's splash of colour.

What a wonderful find! Love the textures and that glimpse into the room full of who knows what? Love the pop of red - really makes the shot!

Brilliant I love this shot. Windows and what is behind them always make really interesting photos.

Lovely textures in this and loads to look at. Think I agree with @amandal about the comp.

Love the texture and framing and slight sense of mystery about what lies on the other side of that window, besides what we can see. Fav for me.
