Thanks for all the get well wishes for littlest. He is not the happiest little boy that he can be but he is slowly on the mend. A poorly boy means lack of inspiration, so today I present you with a handle. From my garden shed. Perhaps I left my inspiration locked away in the shed with the boys toys....
Nothing wrong with a shed handle and textured wood! I'm finding inspiration in my garden since starting this project - just because its in your backyard doesn't mean its not good - makes you want to go inside and see what treasures (or junk) lay beyond. But hope your little one is back to full health soon
@gigiflower Mixture of disturbed nights with him being poorly, it being hottish here which I don't like, busy weekend and the time of the month when for a week being the opposite sex seems a good idea. I have a kitchen floor covered in once edible things that now are inedible and really needs cleaning instead of rambling away on 365...
@newbank Mmm, sounds like you are definitely having a crappy week! It will get better and once you get that floor cleaned.......you will be on a roll and feel fabulous. Or at least pretend to!
OK, but you can work on it! Sorry, that sounds pompous! I mean you shouldn't rubbish yourself. Oh dear, that doesn't sound much better! The basics are there: If it were mine I would want to draw attention to the handle; there isn't much of interest on the left so I would crop off the left side so that the nails are at the left of the frame. That would make it square-ish, which is a nice format and might suit the shot. I might also try darkening the corners with a vignette or some selective darkening - maybe you have some software tools that could do that? Or you could go for a high contrast (and structure?) such as you've shown in some of your earlier b/w shots.
@yrhenwr not pompous I just couldn't be bothered! I pointed. I shot. I put into ps. I pressed desauturate. I posted. Bad day. Bad shot. And now we have no water as discovered a leak too late and have floor board damage....
@gigiflower I went to bed and went to sleep for half an hour. Now I can't clean it as we have no water at all now I have discovered a leak that has caused damage to our hall floor....so the not good week got better.....

This shot isn't lacking inspiration it fits the bill exactly of your theme. Hope your son is on the mend again soon. Not good when your littlies are poorly.
