Flow of Humanity

Another one from our trip into the city centre today. I've spent ages debating between two edits of this image. Tiny difference in the amount of detail in the foreground. Mad totally mad.... I couldn't decide so just plucked one to upload!
This gives me a nice feeling of anticipation with the capture of the soon to be filled empty space.

Love the different patterns, wall, pavement and other bit of pavement. Great contrast between empty and full. Love the shadows!

A wonderful area of bare pavement & then the mass of people walking towards you......turn round a run for it before they get you! I like the sun behind all those heads!

Love this shot, the empty space and then the mass of people are so interesting. Why are they all walking in a group. ha ha. Oh I see, the lights have just changed. Great timing.

OMG!! it looks like a zombie hoard!! x wicked,,, I love it, its like your reporting this hoard moving in the direction and your being quiet as you make the report so as not to draw attention to yourself!!

Excellent composition with all the light, shadow, empty space and oncoming crowd (or are they zombies ...?)

I love this composition, it is like waiting for a stampede or something. So much anticipation. And the light is beautiful, bringing out all the textures on the bricks.

Nice to see that you have been out with your camera Ruth and to see you back here, I love this Ruth! The foreground is perfect with those shadows and I really like the way the light shows up the brick wall. The sense of the crowd being about to invade that space too. Is it between Broad Marsh and the station? FAV!

@yrhenwr it is indeed. I have missed it. But I am learning a lesson about my photography. I don't much enjoy stylised pre thought set up shots much. Much more of a wander and take what I see. Which was getting hard to do in winter in a small village! I'm so impulsive with my photography. Not sure if that good or bad!

@newbank Neither good nor bad Ruth. We have to work in a way that feels right for us. I'm with you on that way of working too. I find street shots in Aberystwyth particularly difficult - there is so much more going on in big cities. My recent shots have been taken with the iPhone because I haven't been going out with photography in mind. Lets hope it's a passing phase for both of us ... although with me it seems to be a repeating pattern!

lovely high contrast and light...

Lovely capture in B & W, probably more suited.

I like the leading lines of the wall & pavement :-)

Very interesting, I have no idea why I have zombies on the brain, but that was my first thought that a crowd of zombies was closing in. No idea where that came from but weird enough I decided to leave comment to admit it LOL. Nice image!

Super shot, I love how there is an expanse of emptiness that the crowd will soon fill.

I love the universality of this shot. It could be almost anywhere in the world. The train stops and ppl flow off onto the empty sidewalks. Great shot!
