@taffy I'd be intrigued at your thoughts on this one. I only had my old compact that is sort of broken in that I couldn't change any exposure/aperture settings etc just point it and shoot. I'd love to have done it justice like your building shots!
I love the composition and all my suggestions are relatively easy in post processing. Do you use lightroom or aperture? My thoughts are that I wouldn't change a thing re composition. The curve of the lines takes me right into the image, and that half-person silhouetted coming around the cure is intriguing. It's the lighting/shadows/light that I'd work on. In LR, I'd use the graduated neutral density filter (the rectangle) to darken the upper part which is a tad blown out. Then, I'd up the contrasts a bit to sharpen the distinction among the lines. I might up clarity a tad as well. Then I'd probably export to Silver Efex and just play around with the sliders from the basic look (maybe the artist preset, or the full contrast & structure (smooth) starting point. It really is a strong composition and worthy of the time.
I love this shot, so much to look at. Love the different layers from bottom to top and the curves and the person walking almost out of view is intriguing.
