I'm bothered by the unbalanced-ness of his face. Does that matter? Is it sharpened too much? I've fallen in love with some amazing portrait photographers work and mine all feels so weak in comparison..... Honest critique please!
I feel just the same as you... Totally inferior to many photographers on here! I think the focus on the eyelashes is lovely, but I do wish his face was more central :) x
It's a beautiful shot and I like that you chose a different pov than normal portraits. I like the out of centre comp, but would like to see a bit more face on the right side next to eye.
Both are lovely Ruth! I prefer the tones of this one and I like that its slightly off-centre. The adorable eye lashes are very conspicuous in both - Oh, isn't he going to break some hearts!! (I know, one of my sons had and still has eyelashes to die for (apparently!) :-)
I'm no portrait expert, but I love this shot, especially the b&w version. The pov is perfect to show off the innocent little face and those great eye-lashes.
Fav for me! I like the off centredness. Love those lashes - wish I'd made mine pose for this sort of shot now - film only though when they were this cute.
@judithg this wasn't posed as such, took a lot before got one in focus he was busy digging in the sand pit and begging me to put the camera down and dig!
