I love to see the delicate little purple flowers on my rosemary bush at this time of year. I love the smell as you brush by it. I love cooking with it. To demonstrate my love of it, I have given it a top up around its base of some homemade compost. I love homemade compost. How from decay can something rich in life giving nutrients. It was good for 5 minutes until the rain came to have my hands covered in soil.
Oh making my own compost is on my list!!! Was supposed to get a bin in Jan. I love rosemary and I planted two plants, which promptly dried and died. I'm making a new list of herbs I need to cultivate. This photo is lovely. Love the color of the pot too!
What a pretty, delicate flower. We have a large bush of rosemary but I don't ever recall seeing flowers. Am I to believe that not everyone makes their own compost? It should be compulsory to do so! :-) I've been making it and successfully using it for decades. We have just spread a lot on to the raised vegetable beds but I'm not sure I'd give it to herbs! At this time of year I will spare a bit for daffodils as the flowers fade; the bulbs seem to benefit.
