The other kind of rock! by nicolaeastwood

The other kind of rock!

No...it's not real - I wish! I think it set me back about £15 several years ago, but it always get a second look!!

My get-pushed challenge this week, from Laura, was to photograph something in high key, which I've not done before. I feel like I cheated a bit, because I tweaked it in editing......like massively.....upping the exposure.

Is that cheating?.......How else are you supposed to do this without remortgaging the house to buy lights, snazzy white umbrellas and twenty flashes etc? :0)

Had fun doing it though! That's the main thing!
Thanks Laura!
Great image. Don't worry when I did high key I used Photoshop too.

@la_photographic here it is! You should see the random collection of torches and angle poise lamps I have assembled for this!! Loved doing it though and am chuffed with the result even if I did cheat a bit!! Thanks again.

Tom
Very nice Nicola, I'm sure that's not cheating. That's exactly what I'd do anyway.

Brilliant job - it looks like something out of a magazine. Love it.

It's not cheating, its enhancing!

Lovely - and I find your attitude refreshing too. If it doesn't look right, turn the screws on it in Photoshop!

@steampowered I think you started it with your lesson on exposure (apologies if that sounds a bit dodgy!) ;0)

@tomo87 @danitech thank you so much.....

Editing tools are there to be used, the results are what matters and this is a fantastic pic!

if you were shooting film you would be be dodging & burning in there too, no one thought it was cheating then, so why now? it's a great high key shot and you still managed to keep the details of the stones, so great job!!
