So here it is - what I stare at all day long in the day job!
On the Stock market we have several different kinds of days:
Red days - stock market goes down
Blue days - stock market goes up
Red and Blue days - it doesn't know what the heck it's doing!
Today was a blue day (ignore the red arrow - that's just there to make it look complicated!!) The number in the yellow rectangle is the FTSE 100 index, which represents the largest 100 companies listed on the Stock Exchange in terms of Market Capitalisation (value).
Rubbish photo really, like @bulldog says long story covers up a less than perfect shot! and errr... broken the rules on my B&W month on day two!
