mmmmmmmmmmmmmm They made little cakes at school the other day, it smelt beyond divine and I'm thinking of making one myself. (The kids don't eat it so I usually manage with just a chunk from my Mum's...)
@filsie65 for three or four years now I've bought the box kit from Waitrose. Culinary cheat central!! It's £10 and a yummy recipe, and has done all the soaking of fruit in brandy/weighing out for you. It also means that you don't have all those bits sculling around for the rest of the year, only to find them all out of date next November when you start all over again!
@nicolaeastwood What an excellent idea! We have a new waitrose opened in Bedford... might have to drive over there soon...! (I just love Christmas cake! The kids are warming to fruitcake, maybe if we had a whole one they would eat more seeing as I guard my Mum's jealously!!)
@filsie65 top tip, if you buy one check the box, you also need three eggs and some butter.......they don't supply that obviously, and it's so frustrating if you get home without them!! :0)
I can smell the cake from here.... great shot, positively mouth-watering.
These look so succulent.
