Since 365 is responsible for this purchase/investment(!) I felt it was necessary to share the very first shot, not the best, but the very first!
Thanks to @steampowered and @padlock for introducing me to Park Cameras (and being my personal shoppers and insisting on a discount for me!) We then wandered up to the British Museum for coffee and time to unpack the camera, before heading over to the Behind the Mask exhibition at Somerset House - do go if you find yourself nearby, it's free and utterly brilliant!
I can see I have a rather steep learning curve ahead, bring it on!!
@judithg hahahaha - they nick-named me Big Bill (for obvious reasons!) I love the thought of getting them back with Phil and Kirsty - wonder which is which!!??
Woohoo! My pleasure (and probably @padlock will say the same) The look on the Park Cameras salesman's face was totally priceless! It was a wonderful day and "Wow!" did you plunge in at the deep end!
A lovely shot and I hope that your new toy (a name is yet to be found for it!) will serve you long and wonderfully!
Love the composition and lines. And have HUGE camera envy. Will be watching your progress with interest - very impressed re discount. I am not good at that kind of thing. Despite being in sales myself......
Apols for the delayed response - CONGRATULATIONS!! You will not be sorry, it is a fantastic camera (and an 'L' lens as well - very swish!). The only comment I have is to get a decent rain cover if you have not already - Optech are fine (only £4.99 for 2 on Amazon) as this is what killed my camera on Christmas Eve and it was a long struggle to get Canon to repair under warranty (was only 9-months old) although they did eventually. The highly promoted weather sealing leaves a lot to be desired. BUT.. it is a truly lovely camera.
@emmadurnford I bought them as soon as you told me, in fact before I even had the camera. Clive took one look and said "oh good, you got condoms for the camera!!" ;0)
@nicolaeastwood That's so funny as I refer to them as elephants condoms!! I'm just working through putting all the setting back to what they were before it went in as it has been reset to factory settings.
@emmadurnford - I've only gawn and done it!! :0)
A lovely shot and I hope that your new toy (a name is yet to be found for it!) will serve you long and wonderfully!
Great shot BTW!
