Last year at the Chelsea Flower Show I bought a mixed selection of Allium bulbs. They have been beautiful this year, and this one is about a foot high but the flower head accounts for about half of that. The flowers come out first near the globe while the ones on the longer stems are still buds and then they burst open as the other flowers finish.
