It's driving me crazy that i can't take a straight picture... this glass is perfectly straight, but it looks positively warped here... any suggestions for getting a crisp angle would be more than welcome!
Looks okay to me too... if your referring to lens distortion and can't correct it in post processing software like Lightroom then shoot at 35mm which is the natural length our human eye sees the world (50mm on full frame or 35mm film). Anything shorter starts to ballon and anything longer begins to pincushion as a general rule - this varies from lens to lens, the more expensive the lens the better controlled it usually is. Also placing the object to one side like that will exaggerate any issues.
Regarding the photo though - I like the effect in the glass - did you use soda water and stir it? The 1/8 shutter speed captures the movement very nicely. Well done!
I think it looks crooked a bit due to the angle. I see the shadow, which may be making it look tilted a little. Try straightening it in a program that has a graph, that way you can tell for sure if its crooked or not.
I love the subject! It makes me feel refreshed. Very effective shot!
Wow, nice shot! I see what you mean about crooked, but actually I like it in this shot, it adds to the abstract quality ( which probably doesn't reduce the frustration for you, sorry, and I don't have the skills to advise) I really like the way the curved shadow emphasises the curve of the lime slice, and thosecurved movement blurs of the bubbles reflect it! :-)
