While I was taking this picture of a utility yard in Oshawa, a lady who was out shovelling snow smiled, shook her head and said: "only a photographer could think something like that is worth taking a picture of!". The fact that I could be mistaken for a photographer just about blew my mind!
@shutterbugger i almost tagged you a couple days ago to ask whether there was anything i could do to amuse two 8 year olds for 30 minutes in Oshawa, but decided you would think i am a total nutbar! my oldest son was playing lacrosse at the GM centre on Athol street near Simcoe... He had to be there an hour early and so i had to keep my younger two from going bat$h1t crazy on me... my husband is travelling on business or we would have been able to divide and conquer... anyway, got doughnuts at timmies, and then walked around a bit... the shot was taken behind the PUC which is more or less across Centre street from city hall (?? I think!)... we're heading back to Oshawa tomorrow morning for another game... i'll be the crazy lady at timmy's with two cranky boys around 8:40am!
@northy just to let you know...that is the most horrible Tim's in town and the people that frequent there are not an accurate representation of the fine people of my fair city.
@shutterbugger uhm... could be the same... how many barbed wire fences are there in Oshawa? and no worries about Oshawans (???) I've known many a fine person from Oshawa and know better than to judge by a small microcosm...
@northy lol..I'm pretty sure this was at the PUC yard. Across from 2 churches? If you're ever coming out this way again (besides tomorrow at what-the-hell o'clock)...let me know! I'd love to go a'walkin with you :)
Well, it's true. The non-photographer folk would just walk by that without even noticing it. How sad for them though because it really is beautiful in its own way, like giant spools of thread. Great find! :-)
I'm hurt!
Great shot...where was it?
