@tklein@slang@sullivan tx guys... yeah, i know i learnt a lot... don't use paper that's too dark... there's no such thing as too much light... high shutter speed + low iso + brighten feature in PSE can almost make this work, my husband thinks i've totally lost it... etc... life lessons??? weellllll... i'm sure it would have been more fun with a glass of vodka in my hand ;p but yeah, i can say i've done it now and move on!
@reemo i'm pretty sure not... the red thing in the reflection was on the other side of the sink from me ;p (yes - i tried to check! am i lame or what?)
@365slfportraits you're probably right... i tried four different types of wrapping paper and this one was the best of what i had... in my first round of editing i had it all looking like swirling lava which was kind of cool... but it ended up looking overdone in the end so i deleted and started from scratch...
Northy, you inspired me... I hope you don't mind... I have never tried water droplet photography and your post got me wondering if I could. Be on the look out for my post today.
@grizzlysghost nope... insanity at its best... keep repeating the same thing... keep getting the same lame result... and then just when i'm about to give up, get something that almost, but not quite, looks half decent... so... back at it again! (and this is how i spent a friday night... @@@@)
You got there in the end tho! Well done. I would love to have a go, but know that, like you, I wouldn't be able to give in until I had got a shot like this.
Haha, after your comment on my water crown saying you'd tried it, I had to go back (way back) and see yours. I feel the same, except I didnt take 4 hours to get my water crown. I could have kept going and done better but it was very much, "that'll do!"
Your old photos are so different to your current street shots.
