I was actually quite pleased with how some of my film photos turned out... this was taken on my way in to work on Monday morning... I was walking through downtown and came upon this back street that had some shiny glass buildings, but also backed onto an alley with fire-escapes and texture :)
I like all the different grays and detail in this shot including glass which is reflecting. I like XP2 and it is interesting to compare difference with the Kodak C41 b&w 400 ASA if you get the chance
@grizzlysghost tx Aaron... i know what you mean about ilford... it was my go-to film back in the 80s - when i actually did my own developing and everything ;p i have a bunch of cheapo processing included colour film, for next week - but definitely gonna buy me some more ilford for the future!
@peterdegraaff@northy I shoot the Kodak B&W C-41 quite often. I really like the higher contrast, but that might just be me. I'm going to pick up some Ilford HP4. Gary, my C-41 processor, highly recommends that as a B&W C-41 film. I also like what you've used here, Northy. Great shot...looks like your film week turned out very well!
@joy26@pixiefsu50 are you so sure you don't have places like this locally? i just came upon this little space by chance... i looked down a small street i hadn't noticed before, and i only looked because i was looking for the light...
@nikkic i'm guessing it was about 8:45 am... it was just a little alley-way of a street... i don't think there was much call for people to be walking on it as a general rule...
@northy I live in a small coastal/fishing town. Its very country and does not have buildings over three stories tall due to height restrictions from the local Air Force Bases. But it surely is a wonderful photo you have captured!
