there's something i like about this, colour included... i tried converting to black and white, and i tried playing with desaturating and various filters in colour efex - but in the end, decided i liked it "as is"... so there ya go...
this is from yesterday when i did the dock shot... i'm not taking many pictures just now as i am still frantically trying to get thru the 2000 or so i took while away in the US... i really want to be done with them before going back to work next Monday :)
This is just perfect as it is. I do love a good boat shot! That creamy colour inside the boats just sets everything off perfectly. Fav What exactly is colour efex?
@suesmith tx Sue... colour efex is a plug in from google (like nik silver efex)... it has a bunch of filters you can add to your photos and play with to get different effects... not sure how best to explain it... i've used it mostly to give dreamy effects to some of my mad minute word shots...
T'riffic. I agree with your decision. Maybe the red could be either deeper or brighter, but if that's the way it really was or the way you remember it, then it's just perfect.
Love the way the line of boats leads the eye, by the way. Quite surprising, since they're distinct objects, not really lines, and there are so few of them. Yeah. Fav, I think!
a couple extreme examples below, but you can use it more subtly of course...
