another "drive by shooting"... the sun was mia again today and we drove home (7 + hours) in the dismal grey... this is NOT monochrome or even desaturated... in fact, i upped the saturation a bit in an attempt to get some depth out of the tones (y'know, just for fun an' all)...
i have spent the last 3 hours trying to nail a photoshop editing technique for a different image for the time challenge, but i'm still struggling with it and my battery (along with my laptop's) is running low... will take another run at it tomorrow... for now, i'm going to go work on the laundry and then call it a night...
tx all for the great feedback on my stair shot from yesterday, and the continued views, comments and favs on my snow-blind and caught shots... both made PP - a nice way to end out the year :)
So know what you mean by dismal grey - I think when I see some blue sky around here I'm going to wonder what it is. your caption for this is very fitting.
Nice. As you raise the saturation (and contrast and clarity which is really mid-tone contrast) it is sometimes nice to carefully raise the shadow detail which can sort of "black out" a bit. Lightroom/Camera Raw is very good for that.
Hwy. As you know we are partnered for GP-76. I have really enjoyed your recent pictures especially the sombre processing of the city images and your creative playfulness. So time for a change and some colour! This week I challenge you to a colourful portrait
@so_lo_webb OMG! Colour AND a portrait!!!! Bahaaaaaa! That's bordering on cruelty ;p. ok - will see what I can come up with - might be a good opportunity to try out my new lighting :)
great shot, very painterly, although the wankered angle on the shed, matching the angle of the ground makes my brain feel that the horizon is just off and your camera was tilted.
@chewyteeth well - it's perfectly possible... i tried to use the trees as the guide for straightening the darned thing, but with all the wacky angles, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if i messed it up... it looks straight to me, but that's actually a sure-fire bet that it's off because most things Lightroom tells me are straight look off to me ;p
