cold dawn by northy

cold dawn

had to get up early to get one of the boys to hockey practice and as the sky was clear i figured i might as well take myself down for the lake to watch the sunrise... sadly it clouded over about 10 minutes before the sun was due to show and stayed overcast for the rest of the day...

sorry - i am beyond behind... my phojo has gone walk about (again) and between kid sports, work and illness i kinda stumbled thru the last week... hopeful that the coming week is better...
Beautiful

Life does interrupt the fun. It was hard enough to keep steady the first year. As the years continue, there will be times of breaks. No need for sorry

Stunning just stunning. And isn't it typical of the weather to turn like that just when you have everything set to go....

Great skyline and POV. Guess life gets in the way sometimes but it is usually temporary. I am sure you will keep the good stuff coming our way.

It looks quiet and lonely out there - know what you mean - I'm hopeless at the moment and living off one photo trip out a week. You've still got it!

i wish i have the stamina to wake up this early on a cold morning to shoot something as pretty as this. after not shooting for several days while on vacation, i'm trying to find my groove again. and the cold doesn't help. when do you go on vacay? march break, i reckon?
February 21st, 2014
@summerfield tx Vikki - i was already up to take the kid to hockey... we're actually going away before march break - cheaper and less crowded... leaving march 1 returning the 5th...

@northy - got your waterproof camera? what did you end up getting?
February 21st, 2014
@summerfield olympus TG-2... it's pretty good...

this was taken with it, from my office window... http://365project.org/northy/365/2014-02-12

compare to similar shot from nex7 http://365project.org/northy/365/2014-01-28

hopefully it will hold up in the water as well as the reviews say it will
February 21st, 2014
@northy - coolio! if there's no manufacturing defect to it whatsoever, it should hold up. we should go swimming in the summer in lake Ontario and take underwater shots. then again, maybe not. hahahaha! let's do a photo trek somewhere when you come back. i want to do more night shots and long exposures, maybe that's what i need to bring back my what do you call it 'phojo'.
