little dude... i hope you are safe wherever you are...
found this teeny tiny racoon on our front lawn Saturday afternoon... it didn't seem injured, but it didn't want to run away and hide either... the online info i found suggested that if the animal isn't injured, the best thing to do is give them a source of warmth and leave them out overnight for the mama to pick up... so we put little dude in a box with a towel and a rice-stuffed sock that we heated in the microwave... Sunday morning (as i write this) little dude is gone... really hoping he was reunited with his family (and yes - i realize that this means we will likely encounter him again as he tries to knock over our garbage can, but still...)
Oh, what sweetness in that face -- you've created such emotion for the viewer to see, and I do hope little dude is safe and when he grows up he remembers your kindness and doesn't return mischief for it.
Hello again!!! Just seen you've partnered me with you again. How about a 'nice' composition challenge ( no Accidental Renaissance here though). Four cornered composition!
Each of the four corners of the picture should be on a different thing and should be achieved in camera, not with a crop, if possible. ( eg penquin, knight, chess board and something else!!) Have fun putting your spin on this. J
This is both a wonderful story and image. It is very upsetting to find baby animals - we often have the same thing happen with birds - but usually the parents do come back for them. Our roos and wallabies will even throw their joeys out of the pouch when chased by dogs - they can then run faster - and, if they survive, they come back and collect their baby. The heated sock is a wonderful idea!
