on the outside looking in - toned

NOT a street candid... that's my kid peering in the window... he was getting antsy so i sent him outside to pose... i was hoping to be photo-bombed by one of the wait staff walking across the floor, but no such luck...

@dtigani challenged me to work with duotones and tritones... am still trying to sort out what these are - photoshop makes it easy to play with them, but i only have PSE... and i generally prefer to do my toning in Lightroom... the above has split tones added in LR... one colour to the shadows and another colour to the highlights... moody blues and greens for coldth... i tried to mix a warm concoction but without much success i'm afraid...

a pure black and white version is in my other album for comparison...

Another wonderful use of light. Love how there's just enough to make out the chairs and some interior. Very cook Mdme Northy!

I like this one better than the b&w. The tones add subtle life to it. Inspired decision to send your son outside looking in, he 'makes' the photo.
