The sign on the left depicting farming in the village appeared in a previous month of village signs before I knew that the four main roads leading into Papplewick each had a different sign.
The right one on Moor Road shows Moor Pond part of an 18th century system of leats and ponds to ensure the many water mills along the river Leen always had a sufficient supply of water to power them.
@koalagardens Perhaps people entering the village from these roads always drive carefully so do not need reminding unlike those on the other roads, in the next photo where one has no flowers in its container and the other has no flower container.
