Last week when I posted my "Summer Sun" picture (July 22 in my Themes and Competition Album), Mrs. Smith (@mrssmith) encouraged me to take a picture of the trees once a season. I liked the idea but wasn't sure if I'd get to Batavia for each season sooo I decided to revisit the creek which runs through our community. Back in March, the Bushkill was at flood stage (top picture) and was threatening to overrun this house's front yard. Today, the rain is barely making a dent on raising the water level(bottom picture-notice all the stones from on the creek bed), but that's the way of nature, isn't it? Seasons come and go, cycle in and out, and yet remain steady in a world that seems to get crazier by the day. Come fall, the Bushkill will be surrounded by God's artwork and probably a bit higher than it is now. In winter, thanks to the snowfall, the water level will be high again and ice will disguise it's quick and gurgling pace. So, Mrs. Smith will have to give me an incomplete until nature runs her course. And I will have my camera ready to complete the montage.
@digitalrn That was back in March when we had about 5 or 6 days of rain in a row, plus all the snow melting. It was an incredible amount of water! But as you can see by the bottom pic, it's long gone.
@kimmiesue Thanks Kim. It's not a new idea and actually I think there was something up on the discussion board recently where people posted pictures like that. Anyway- thanks I'll be putting them up again when the last two seasons are in.
