Light trails

My get pushed partner Laura gave me the challenge to photograph light trails, and a challenge it was and still is.

We live on a lane without streetlights and no traffic at night, so I had to go out to the main road. I stood at a roundabout and did some shots. This is the best I could do. For now.

I'm so happy I got this challenge as it's the first time I used the 'M' on my camera. Adjusted shutterspeed, aperture and ISO. I wanted to experiment more, but I didn't really have a lot of time (children). I might have another go tomorrow night.

Please critics, tips if possible, it's all new to me and I'm quite a-technical, but I'm liking it.

@la_photographic great challenge as it got me to use the 'M' on my camera which I've never done before.

Cool light trails...not easy to get them right...at least for me! Good job, maybe you should be giving us tips! :)

NIce shot, just keep your aperture as low as you can (high number like f18 or f22) your iso low (80-200) and your shutter speed as low as you can get without over exposing (5-20 sec also depends on the traffic) and of course use a tripod but I think you did this here because the trails are very straight.

@leonbuys83 thanks Leon, very much appreciated! I thought I had put my shutter speed on 10 seconds, but looking at my exif info I saw it was 0.1 seconds. So that's one thing I have to change. I might have another try tomorrow night. Thanks again!

@ceilidh yes, adapt your iso, aperture and shutterspeed in manual mode. I'm practising this.
