Split

The children had two friends over to play and were running around in the garden.

I watched Mark for a while who was chopping wood, to be stacked and dried for next winter. I had read about Ernst Haas in the Artist Challenge thread, http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/31309/artist-challenge-ernst-has, and looked up some of his images on his website. Very inspiring! His motion studies, http://ernst-haas.com/classic-color-motion/ caught my immediate attention, but all other work is as inspiring.

Anyway Mark swinging the axe made me think it would be a good subject. I deliberately chose for a slow shutter speed (didn't use a tripod though) and in LR added a bit of grain and accentuated the blue.
@beryl, thanks for your comment on my image (of the log being thrown on the stack), I replaced it as I thought this one fitted the challenge better.

It gives a real feel for the impact of the axe. I like the flying chips. Great for your motion studies emulation of Ermst Haas.
