when my Mom and my brother and my two boys and I went to Guatemala and helped build homes in santiago Atitlan, and then got to spend a day playing with Mayan school children, I was given both of these items and lived in them. I have not used them since, but I can't quite bear to part with them either because the memory of that time still ranks among the most meaningful episodes of my life.
three good things
1. travel that teaches us how similar we really are
2. the knowledge that the world is a very small place and it is home to us all
3. Old Family and new friends
It's funny how some things become as significant as the event they are attached to. I think we all have treasures like that. But you might be able to use the purse again, even the hat. They look handmade. That for me would be part of the reason for keeping them.
