firewood

This wood is so lovely in the rain that it almost seems to glow with its own fire. It seems such a shame to burn it but that is our only source of heat each winter

I love trees and wood carvings and using it as fuel always sits a bit sorowfully in my heart

three good things
1. warmth
2. trees
3. dead trees giving warmth and warmth encouraging new trees to grow

Its a regenerating force of energy so that must be good! As you say in No 3. I love a heap of wood all nicely stacked for the winter even though we are just coming in to summer!

@cimes1 madrone, which is often a bush, but when the evergreens are logged then it grows tree sized in the cleared areas

That looks like it would have a lovely fragrance. I always say if I tree must come down it is worth it when it's used for heat or for art. Otherwise I feel the same way- I hate to see them come down because someone doesn't like where they grew. Nice shot!
