Remnants of the holiday

Here in the Crescent City boat basin, the crabbers are a few weeks past their normal season opening, waiting two clean toxin tests on the dungeonesse crabs. Higher algae counts in warmer water this year made it slow and caused them to miss the Christmas season, but across the border in Oregon, crabbing opened yesterday and we shouldn't be far behind
