I couldn't talk myself into going out today, and so began the indoor search for a subject. My kitty wouldn't sit still long enough for a photo session, so other avenues were explored.
This is my maternal Grandma and her dog, Cleo. I don't have many memories of either of them. MeMe died when I was around 10 years old and I'm WAY past that now. ;-)
This is one of my favorite photos of her. I always thought it was so cool that she included her dog in her portrait sitting.
Ooo I love the old feel to this one! What a fantastic story and I love the dog in the shot as well! :) Thanks for always sharing such wonderful stories about you and your life. It is so super to get to know you more and more through your pictures! :)
This is so lovely - especially as the dog looks like a spaniel. Lovely kind looking grandmother and who ever took the photo must have been known fondly to Cleo as she is looking straight at them. Sensitively done. Lovely
@khirsch
The silver cup is something that's been around since I was a kid. I have a vague memory of my mother telling me it was my baby cup. You know, the whole silver rattle, silver cup thing? I'm not sure though, as there is no engraving. But then, my mom was bad about getting around to that kind of thing. ;-)
So, whether it was mine or not, I love vintage decor items, so it's usually on display somewhere.
@pasadenarose so there is a story to it as well, lovely composition your grandmas portrait and your silver baby cup- memories at its best. Have a lovely Christmas
